Understanding Rollerskool's leveling system helps skaters look forward to the next skills they are going to learn. Every skater progresses differently, some need more than one class to land a skill, some might breeze through two skills in a class.

The speed a skater progresses in learning skills depends on many factors. Core strength, agility, dexterity, balance and coordination are just a few of the factors that determine whether a skater can progress from one level to another.

The main objectives of Rollerskool's levels are the following:

  • Tiger Level

Rollerskool Tiger Level

In Tiger Level, Skaters are introduced to the very basics of inline skating. The goal is to control the skates using very basic balancing techniques. So, they can balance, skate, turn and stop on inline skates. Upon completion of this level skaters can skate, stop and turn using basic techniques and can use falling on their safety pads as a fun activity. Aposed to fearing falling.

  • Tower Level

Rollerskool Tower Level

The Tower level is designed to help skaters further engage their core in skating skills. As the skater becomes faster a sturdier frame is needed to control these movements. Upon completion of this level skaters can initiate movement without lifting a skate. The goal is to learn how to skate using their wheel edges to skate, turn and stop without lifting their skates. Controlling their skates while all wheels are on the ground all the time.

  • Airplane Level

Rollerskool Airplane Level

Skaters at airplane level are challenged to strengthen their left and right feet independently. Most skaters have a stronger side and a weaker side. Knowing this helps them get ready for sports specific skills later on. Upon completion of this level skaters will be able to assess which leg is their more dominant leg. Thus know which skill in which direction to depend on in the time of urgency or need.

  • Scissor Level

Rollerskool Scissor Level

Scissor Level focuses alot on precise movements. This is where skaters are introduced with more complex skating skills. How to maximize speed when turning or changing a skaters direction without losing momentum are key components needed when skating in sports like inline speed skating, hockey and skate cross. Upon completion of the scissor level, a skater will be able to control themselves on skates at different speeds, stop from different speeds and manage speeds while turning.

  • Bendy Level

Rollerskool Bendy Level

At Bendy Level skaters are introduced to increasing speed and mastery to skating skills. Here skaters learn fundamentals to sports specific skills needed to compete, master efficient skating strides and harness elegant movements like the cross over. Upon completion of this level skaters will be able to join a skate club or community that focuses on competition or performances.

Understanding Rollerskool's leveling system will help you and your skater's path to becoming a proficient skater an enjoyable one.

All skaters are introduced to sports specific disciplines at the Airplane - Scissor Level. This is due to the skaters having the sufficient skills and strength needed to have fun playing these sports.

When skaters are evaluated they can expect to receive a skate wrist band and certificate of accomplishment.
